Buddy’s back

Scrappy has a guest. Yet another guest. Ogee suggest that Scrappy should get some kind of medal for being such a good host. Maybe so. Buddy has boarded with us before, and is back for just a few days this week. Buddy is an exceptionally handsome boy. Teddy Bear was exceptionally playful today. A little peekaboo is good for the soul.

Charley for a Day

Nope, not a new TV show. Charley is a Homeward Bound alumnus, and he stayed with me for a while while we weaned him off Prozac. I wrote a little about him in this post. He’s back for a short visit while his Mom and Dad celebrate their 33rd wedding anniversary. He’ll be going home tomorrow but it’s great to see him again if only for a short time. Scrappy’s not playing with Charlie — that’s nothing new. But at least he isn’t all pouty and moping around this time.    

Old things

I’ve always loved old things. I have my grandmother’s cast iron dutch oven that’s at least a hundred years old. My grandmother once let me keep an arrowhead I found on her property. It seemed ancient and wondrous to me. Sadly, it didn’t take long for me to drop it and watch, horrified, as it split into two or three pieces. I was inconsolable. Scrappy has visitors

Last weekend Scrappy had two visitors, Buddy and Yule. I’ve written about Yule a few times already. He’s Scrappy’s best friend. It’s gratifying to see them get excited when they spot each other approaching for a visit. Buddy had been with us once or twice before but Scrappy mostly gives him the cold shoulder. That’s okay because Buddy is still getting used to being around other dogs so just being around Scrappy for a few days is good for him.
