I haven’t shot much in the HB garden lately. For several reasons. On Friday I found myself at HB with no dogs and no pressing need to get home quickly. I fed Frida the Cat, and, instead of hurrying to the car, I grabbed a camera and strolled through the garden. It was almost a new experience for me — it had been so long. Perhaps more so because the weather had recently turned cool. That’s a relative thing, of course. In Sacramento we’ll mostly have temps in the 70s and even 80s throughout October.
I relaxed and slowed down a bit more looking for something worth capturing. I began to experience the garden more deeply as I noticed how much shadow had crept in over while my focus was elsewhere. I stopped and looked around in awe of the people who would create such a thing to honor the dogs of Homeward Bound.
I thought about the dogs I was with that day. Louie, who seems to capture at least one new heart everyday. Who could resist?
Killian, who has my heart.
Later I was at home with my current group. scrappy, who had his lean going on.
Lilly, who spends much of her time guarding the road so no vehicle passes without her raucous warnings of imminent danger.
And sweet Walter boy who needs your love and nothing more. Except food. Love and food.
I just love this Rob!!
