Shaggy stops by

Shaggy’s Mom brought him with her to HB yesterday. She was feeding the kennel dogs in the morning and didn’t to leave him home due to some construction happening at their house. I was grateful to be able to spend a little time. He was lying in a yard when I arrived so I lay down next to him and stroked his beautiful coat. I had forgotten how he starts to “purr” when you do that. Shaggy stayed with me for a couple months while undergoing treatment for heartworm. Yule’s second home

Yule’s Mom, the wealthy heiress, is off traipsing around Europe or Asia or somewhere. It’s hard to keep track of her travels. The most excellent part about these trips is that Yule comes here, his second home. Sadly, I only have him for a few more days after which he must return to his primary home. You mat recall that Yule and Scrappy are best friends. Scrap won’t play with very many dogs. But he’ll play with Yule nearly every day that he’s here. An old friend stopped by

Bear came with his Mom to visit us at Homeward Bound a few days ago. Bear is the dog that stayed with me with me for a few weeks while his Mom was out of commission back in March. I wrote about him in this post. Bear is a special boy and it was good to see him again. I asked him to sit and he dutifully posed for several photos. His mom has trained him well!

Mostly roses

The Homeward Bound Gardeners have blessed us with some beautiful roses to admire. The Memorial Garden looks wonderful and remains an oasis of peace and tranquility for volunteers and dogs alike. I don’t do much at all in the garden anymore so I’m not always up on the latest developments. I recently noticed the abundance of aster in our midst. It’s wonderful. There is one item that is a little concerning though. I don’t know for sure if I was supposed to see this. I’m all for experimentation and new ideas and such.
