Shaggy goes home
My beloved Shaggy has left because his Mom returned home from her trip. I’ll miss him but I was thrilled to have Shaggy here for just over a week. He seemed to feel comfortable from the start — not terribly surprising as he lived with me for several months a couple years back. The other night was much like old times. I was lying on the floor with Shaggy watching TV. I was watching TV. Shaggy was having a great time fidgeting and putting his legs on me in awkward ways. That boy is not a respecter of personal space…
Scrappy
Scrappy has not appeared much lately so I dedicate tonight’s post to him. And a bonus shot of Lilly.
Yule drops in
Yule’s Mom, the wealthy heiress, decided at the last minute to spend Christmas in Vienna. Something about the skiing being outstanding there this year. Yule, of course, is always welcome here. That makes five for Christmas. Yule. My Scrappy. My Lilly. More on her still to come. My beloved Shaggy. A Homeward Bound alumnus. And Molly. She’s here from Homeward Bound because she likes to “mouth” people hands a little too much. Make that way too much. But she’s improving.

Catching up
I had mentioned that I had a few canine guests over Thanksgiving weekend but I’m just now getting to Yule’s photos. He makes a good subject as always. Yule did well with Lilly although she is still wary of him. He also spent a little time with Buddy out in the yard a couple times. Yule doesn’t realize what an imposing figure he cuts. Inside he can be a frightened little puppy. Yule is big — part Great Pyrenees — and has a massive head that I love to rub. Scrappy and Lilly form the welcoming committee — loud as…
Full House
Sometimes you just end up with more dogs than you expected. I’ve long known that Yule was coming for the Thanksgiving weekend. That would make just three dogs including Scrappy and Lilly, the full-time residents here. But then Buddy’s parents texted a few days ago to see if I could accommodate Buddy for a few days. Sure, why not. And then Homeward Bound got full up so that added one more. I’m glad it stopped there. You may recall Buddy as he’s been a guest here several times. He’s a wonderfully sweet boy who is working on his confidence with…

Shaggy stops by
Shaggy’s Mom brought him with her to HB yesterday. She was feeding the kennel dogs in the morning and didn’t to leave him home due to some construction happening at their house. I was grateful to be able to spend a little time. He was lying in a yard when I arrived so I lay down next to him and stroked his beautiful coat. I had forgotten how he starts to “purr” when you do that. Shaggy stayed with me for a couple months while undergoing treatment for heartworm. They can’t run or play during this time because the worms…

Hockey player. At least, that’s how it looked to me.
